Windows, it seems, doesn’t stop with any one build in particular, but keeps on moving through as many of them as it can.
Case in point. If you go to Best Buy today, you’re likely to see at least several computers that are using the Windows 7 operating system. It hasn’t been that long since they created the darn thing, not really. And already we’re looking for the next big thing, the next build of Windows.
It’s rather curious, isn’t it? People love to rag on Microsoft because it isn’t Apple, and they love to rag on the operating systems the most of all. Sometimes they’re just genuinely bad, but that doesn’t explain why everyone gets so excited about the newest gadget that 8 represents. Windows 7 isn’t really a bad system; if anything, it’s done rather well. Why is there a need for a new one so soon?
Well, the biggest reasons that people are excited for this new build include a few different ones. One reason is that the newest Microsoft operating system is going to include support for various microprocessors that are currently being implemented in newer computers. Additionally, the start screen interface has changed as well. Supposedly it was changed with some input from touchscreen devices such as new smart phones. But it will also take the old forms of input from a mouse or from a keyboard.
In other words, it seems that they learned an awful lot from their foray into smart phones, and they want to keep on with what they’re learning. There are also new authentication methods for people, allowing them to ‘sketch’ in their passwords as opposed to having to remember a string of code.
They also plan to use a ribbon interface, similar to the toolbar you see in your Word Processor programs. Microsoft plans to implement this for the Windows Explorer program.
Windows 8 will also come with the Windows Store, a place where you can go to buy apps for Windows, to keep either on a smart phone or else to use on your computer.
